The Smokeshop, Adult & Alternative Retailers Association (SAARA) was founded in 2012 with the position to Protect, Unite and Educate our industry.  Our mission is to Unite shop owners. We work as a collective front, building an all-encompassing network of Industry Specific Professionals. The Association gathers and disseminates information to Educate it's members and local communities in a proactive effort toward compliance and acceptance. We are here to Protect our Associate Members from social and legal persecution by acting as a Professional Ambassador to the general public, political parties and law enforcement.

SAARA began as The International Association of Smoke Shop Owners but ultimately recognized that solely representing the Smoke Shop Industry was too restrictive; thus we included what we viewed as all facets of our industry including Adult and Alternative Shops.

The Association started with a Private Facebook Group comprised of hundreds of shop owners, major manufacturers and distributors.  SAARA is emerging into a comprehensive International conglomeration with services that will include permission based Forums, Legal support, approved products, product and services discounts and so much more.

The founding members include Wesley Todd with Mayan Kratom, Heather Leffel from Glow Industries, Cody Nuss from ISI, Tony Goodstash, Bucky Choy from Piece of Mind, and several more.  The Inaugural Board is comprised of Todd Sherman with Hell Yeah Novelties as President, Justin Wilson with Piece of Mind as Vice President, David Wolfe of Smoke And More as Secretary and Heather Flowers with Happy High Herbs as Treasurer.


“We are at a critical juncture as far as the state of our industry” says Todd Sherman.  He added “It is imperitive that we act together as a united front to ensure the continued protection and growth as well as changing the public perception”.  

After a very successful soft launch at the CK Expo in New Orleans, SAARA is poised to “Change The Face of The Industry”.  This will be accomplished through a membership drive at CHAMPS in Las Vegas in February 2013 with sponsorship provided by Cotton Mouth Candy, KannaBliss, Mayan Kratom, Law Office of Timothy M. Dandar, Jerome Baker with Binger Springs Water, Hell Yeah Novelties, Piece Of Mind and Smoke & More.
